Ask the spectator to draw out one of the cards so that you cannot see the image on the other side. Let the viewer remember how many points are drawn on the map. Now spin the top: it will show exactly the number that corresponds to the number of points on the viewer’s card.
The secret of the trick:
When the viewer pulls out the card, look carefully at its back side. At the bottom of the card there are squares and an asterisk. The location of the star corresponds to the number of points that are depicted on it: for a card with one point, the star is drawn on the first cell, for a card with two points - on the second cell, etc. Then position the top so that the number that corresponds to the points on the map is on top and discreetly press the top. The nose will bend a little and the center of gravity of the top will shift. Now, when you spin it, it will show the number we need.
